Poor Regulation Allows Unlicensed Osteopaths to Practice in Newfoundland


Fact: Osteopathy is not a regulated profession in Newfoundland. This allows people to use take credentials from online universities. So let's be clear.
FACT: NO "Osteopath" at Stability Osteopathy has actually gone to an accredited Osteopath university.

In fact, you could put "osteopath" behind your name right now and try and impress people in with a bunch of fake letters behind your name. No one can stop you! Do you REALLY want to entrust your health to people with no real credentials?

The Chiropractor Who Isn't

Dr. Andrea Hogan probably took 3-4 years to get a degree in Health Education from Dalhousie University and another 4 years to go to Chiropractic school. But somehow she gets another university degree in Osteopathy in a few months (online of course). Anything odd about this? For some reason you can't use your chiropractic insurance to see her (i.e. she can't bill you as a chiropractor). You don't need a real university degree to see that someone very suspicious is happening here.

The Wolves Monitoring the Sheep - fake "doctor" Gibbons as President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Osteopathy Association

Well here's a good one. Fake doctor and Osteopath Matt Gibbons is actually the president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Osteopathy Association. So when you file a complaint with the association about him, he's the one who receives the email! So what do you think actually happened when we filed a complaint? No response, no call - nothing.   He just simply buried his head in the sand. I guess we can't blame him. He doesn't really have a way to defend himself. It's not like he has integrity, a professional association and strong credentials to stand buy.
